Newburyport’s Rail Trail provides an integral link in the Coastal Trails Network that connects Amesbury, Newbury, Newburyport and Salisbury.

Border to Boston Trail

An emerging 28-mile shared-use trail linking eight communities from the New Hampshire border to Danvers on Boston’s North Shore. The non-motorized rail-trail will connect town centers, neighborhoods, schools, parks, recreational facilities and natural areas, and be one of the region’s outstanding assets, facilitating safe, scenic, healthy transportation and recreation for all.

Bay Circuit Trail

A permanent recreation trail and greenway corridor extending through 34 towns in Eastern Massachusetts and linking the parks and open spaces surrounding metropolitan Boston.

         

East Coast Greenway

The East Coast Greenway is a developing trail system, spanning nearly 3,000 miles as it winds its way between Canada and Key West, linking all the major cities of the eastern seaboard. Nearly 25 percent of the route is already on safe, traffic-free paths. The Old Eastern Marsh Trail (Salisbury), Clipper City Rail Trail (Newburyport) and Border to Boston Trail (Salisbury to Danvers) are part of the ECG alignment.

Creating a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors to build healthier places for healthier people.

Essex National Heritage Area

The Essex National Heritage Commission (ENHC) is the non-profit management organization for the ENHA. The Commission's mission is to promote and preserve the historic, cultural and natural resources of the ENHA. Essex Heritage provides technical support to the CTC.

National Park Service Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program

The Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program is the community assistance arm of the National Park Service. RTCA supports community-led natural resource conservation and outdoor recreation projects. The NPS provides technical support to the CTC.
